It takes a community to make a difference. A community of people with a passion for helping animals that are vulnerable to harsh environments they are either born into or dumped into by their families. We heard a story from someone walking down a street in Vallejo when she saw something thrown out of a car. When she got to the spot where the "something" was, it turned out to be a kitten. This kitten was literally treated like a piece of trash!
By joining our rescue team, you can make a difference in the lives of these abandoned and homeless animals. If you think that one person can't make a dent in the problem we face as a community, think again. One of the co-founders of Cat Tales Rescue has rescued through to adoption more 600 cats and kittens in 4 years. Six hundred. Our other co-founder has TNR'd more than 400 feral cats in 5 years saving literally thousands of kittens from ever being born in the first place. These two women lead busy lives with full time jobs, families and homes. One person can make a HUGE difference. Imagine what a dedicated rescue team can do!
Become part of our team and find out how it feels to save a life. In our opinion, it's one of the most satisfying and rewarding experiences you can have.
There are many, many ways you can help! Lots of people think they only way they can contribute to an animals rescue is by working directly with the animals. Of course, there is always a need for foster homes and volunteers to help counsel people who are adopting among other services but there are a lot of other opportunities to help as well. Below are just a few suggestions and perhaps these will give you an idea of how you can fulfill a passion of yours, while helping the animals.
We ask people who want to volunteer to commit to a six month period with us. However, we do understand that for some, even this minimum commitment is too much. If you are one of those people who are concerned about getting too involved but would like to do something to help, please contact us about short term commitments for special projects that would take anywhere from a few hours to a day or two of your time.
For example, we might need someone with carpentry experience to help build feral shelters or help set up recovery recovery space for feral cats after their spay/neuter surgery. Another instance might be helping out for one day at a fund raising event or providing a temporary, emergency foster home. These are just a couple of ideas, you may have some of your own. Don't hesitate to contact us if you can offer even a short amount of your time for a quick project.
Don't Have Time to Volunteer
If you do not have the time to volunteer, there are many other ways you can help save lives!
We are always in need of donations. We have an Amazon Wish List and a Chewy.com Wish List. Monetary donations help a lot to go towards medical bills and medical supplies.
